Contact SupplierAcid washed activated carbon is processed through high-degree steam activation under various quality control and acid washed with hydrochloric acid. It is used for the purification of water. Washed activated carbon is also used for the separation of heavy hydrocarbons. Acid washed activated carbon prevents leaching into the condensate as the acid washing separates the silica from the matrix.
Other applications of acid washed activated carbons involve improving the taste of water, removing color and odors from the water, and dechlorination of water. Our washed activated carbon is tough and long lasting. They are porous with high absorption capacity and efficiency. They are neither acidic nor basic.
To regrade the filter bed and prevent the accumulation of suspended matter, activated carbon requires only occasional backwashing. Even though the activated carbon has an exceptionally high capacity, it needs to be replaced when the filter bed is not working effectively in removing the taste and odor.
