Contact SupplierTo affix any screw in a wall a plug is required to give a firm grip. Thus when screws are drilled in a wall a plug is accompanied with the screw. When a screw is to be drilled in a dry wall or a brick or concrete wall a nylon plug is used whereas in any wet area a PVC or plastic plug is used. A nylon plug is generally flute shaped where as PVC one is bugle or trumpet shaped.
They are available in length from 25 mm up to 50 mm and in diameter from 4.2 mm upto 5.5 mm.
After the hole is drilled in any wall the plug is inserted and then the screw is pierced. This gives a very firm grip and the same cannot be loosened or removed easily.
