The More You Know - Cashew Nomenclature

The cashew abbreviation for Organic Cashew Whole 320 is OW320.  O stands for organic and means that these cashews are produced naturally on a certified organic farm.  W stands for whole.  A cashew kernel is classified as a whole if it has the characteristic shape of a cashew kernel and not more than 1/8th of the kernel has been broken off.  320 signifies the number of kernels in 1 lb. 

Organic Pasteurized Cashew Whole 320

Our Organic Pasteurized Cashew Whole 320 is a product of Vietnam that have been processed using standards certified by the Control Union.  They are pale ivory and light-yellow in color and contain 300-320 kernels per pound.  These blanched cashews are commonly used where appearance of the whole cashew kernel is important.  They can be oil roasted and salted as required.    Generally, larger the size, higher the price, hence whole 320s come at a premium price.  They are generally not used for making cashew butter, cheese, bars, or granolas because of their premium pricing, but can be used in these applications if pricing is not a concern.  This product is certified gluten-free, Halal, Kosher, and vegan-friendly.
