This compound is a cyclic nucleotide pde (ca2+-dependedcalmodulin-stimulated phosphodiesterase) inhibitor. Studies suggest that vinpocetine’s selective inhibition of pde1 may induce vascular relaxation by increasing cyclic gmp contents in vascular smooth muscle.
