Video Measuring Machines are very similar to Profile Projectors except these are camera based machines which obtain their inputs via a CMOS camera and the software then processes the digital data to provide the measurements by mathematically analyzing the obtained data. Video based systems can be designed to be accurate to uncertainty levels of >/= 0.001 mm and are hence best suited for research, reverse engineering etc.
