Valiyavilichapaadu Pooja

Valiyavilichapaadu is the most superior pooja method originated from Kerala. The name was derived from Malayalam which is popularly known as “Valiyavilichapaadu”. “Valiya” which means “valliya” it is enormous or huge, “Vilichapaadu” denotes the procedure/ techniques of pooja. Among all tantric poojas Valiyavilichapaadu is the most energetic pooja method which has massive power to overcome the impediments of one’s life.
Valiyavilichapaadu was first manipulated by Lord Ayyappa of Sabarimala. Lord Ayyappa himself accomplished this pooja before getting converted into immortal jyothi (luminous holy light). This pooja is commonly signified as “Guru Shishya Pooja” which Lord Ayyappa has taught this pooja to his Guru’s son. As asked by his Guru Lord Ayyappa accomplished this pooja to resolve the dumbness of his Guru’s son as Guru dakshina (a kind of offering by the student to Guru).
Lord Ayyappa drew the structural pattern of yantra on his (Guru’s son) tongue and chanted mantras which cured his dumbness. Guru’s son was blessed with the power of speech and the power of all the worldly knowledge which made him a human with great powers. He thanked Lord Ayyappa for blessing him with such great wisdom. Lord Ayyappa also lets Guru’s son ask whatever he needed. Guru’s son wished to worship poojas for Lord Ayyappa throughout his life and he was blessed with the same he requested for. Then after Lord Ayyappa taught him the procedures to worship himself and that is called as “Valiyavilichapaadu”.
