The Universal Braille Kit has a braille cube, an alphabet plate, a braille slate and stylus, a standard abacus and instruction manuals.

The UBK has been conceived and developed by Vidya Vrikshah, a non-profit trust in Chennai as a basic solution to enable any literate person, preferably the mother, to impart braille based basic literacy to the blind child, even at home and even at the pre-school stage. It comprises of devices designed to help the blind to learn to form braille letters, words and sentences, write, learn normal handwriting, basic arithmatics and drawing.
