Tylosin Tartrate

Tylosin Tartrate is macrolide antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae. The compound is active against most gram-positive bacteria, mycoplasma and certain gram-negative bacteria. The antibiotic is used in veterinary medicine.
Absorption of Tylin Inj. (Tylosin Tartrate Inj. B.P. Vet) is faster by Subcutaneous and intramuscular administration than absorption of formulation containing Tylosin Base.
Tylin Inj. is well absorbed by parental route and excreted quite slowly hence long acting.
Tylin is very effective against wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms.
