properties
as an anti-bacterial agent tylosin is active against most of the micro-organisms responsible for primary infections in domestic animals: mycoplasma, gram+ bacteria (staphylococcus spp, streptococcus) and some gram- bacteria (campylobacter coli, fusobacterium necrophorus, actinobacillus).
Indications
cattle: respiratory diseases, mastitis caused by gram+ germs sensible to tylosin, foot rot, other diseases caused by tylosin-susceptible bacteria.
Sheep and goats: pleuropneumonia, metritis caused by gram+ germs.
Contra-indications
do not administer to horses.
Administration and dosage
deep intramuscular route. In case of severe affections, the usual dosage can be doubled by administering two injections a day.
Usual dosage :
cattle : 0.5 to 1 ml / 20 kg body weight per day for 3 days
sheep and goats : 1 ml / 20 kg body weight per day for 3 days
side-effects
the use of the product may cause occasional and transient local discomfort upon injection.
Precautions
keep out of the reach of children and uninformed persons.
Withdrawal period
meat : 14 days
milk : 3 days (6 milkings)
