Titanium Dioxide is a naturally occurring oxide of the element titanium. This substance also occurs naturally as three mineral compounds known as anatase, brookite, and rutile. Titanium dioxide is the most widely used white pigment because of its brightness and very high refractive index. TiO2 is also an effective opacifier, thickener, sunscreen and UV blocking pigment.
