Contact SupplierModel - TIME 5100 (TH 170) :
TIME 5100 (Standard) : The TIME 5100 (TH-170) has a D type impact device and is used for general purpose testing of samples greater than 5mm thickness. Using the LEEB rebound method the results can be displayed as Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell and Shore hardness values. These values can then be used for quality control and wear and tear analysis.
TIME 5102 (Thin material) : Should you need to test lighter or thinner samples then you may wish to consider the TIME 5102 (TH 172). The C-type impact device has a lighter impact force which allows if to test thinner samples and the result is measured in HLC rather than HLD. The TIME 5102 (TH-172) can test samples from 1mm provided they are coupled. If they are not coupled or stable and secure, the sample will retain energy or vibration from the impact of the indentor. This can result in a lower hardness reading. Please ensure that small or thin work pieces are coupled for an accurate result.
TIME 5104 (Needle Point for hard to reach Testing) :
For hard to reach locations we recommend the TIME 5104 (TH-174). It comes with a needle point indenter so that is it perfect for deep crevices, and also for testing odd surfaces such as teeth on gears, o-ring grooves or any notched/stepped parts :
Please consider the importance of a Reference Test Block. During general testing, it is important to have a known reference value to compare against should you receive unexpected results.
