Contact SupplierThis was used in Tamilnadu some decades ago to grind the grains. It is also called Ragi Kal since it works excellent with Ragi. Grains are coated by nature with a layer which is the cover for the core and forms a layer inside of the outer peel. Recent studies reveal that such layers possess high nutrient values too. When the grains are grinded in fully automated machines the nutritional layer gets damaged. This traditional thirugai applies moderate pressure on grains so that the particular layer is protected. Soups/Gruel/ Kanji being cooked for small kids can be made out of the grains from this thirugai thus ensuring fully nutritional food for kids at their tender age.
