Manufacture of composites involves a concoction of raw materials - resins, catalyst, accelerators, mold releases and glass fiber. The resin:catalyst:accelerator ratio always poses a technical challenge, since they are sourced from disparate manufacturers. Often when the resin fails to gel, or reach its peak strength, it is complex to pin-point the problem raw material. Is it the resin, or the catalyst, or the accelerator, or all?
