PTFE cladding helps rubber seal to retain its flexibility while maintaining its position between the clamp bar and seal plate. PTFE cladding also reduces friction while movement of gate and tearing of rubbery portion by gate. Life of Rubber seal can be improved greatly by PTFE (Teflon) cladding over rubber seals.
