tara powder is a vegetable tanning agent belonging to the piragallol tannin group which come from the tara leaf sheath. It is used as retanning or main agent that tans a wide leather range. However, it also contains a small quantity of cat chemistry products.

according to the analytical description, tara powder tannin do is not containing almost colouring substances, so that when combined with hide, it produces very light leather and a excellent resistance to light.combined with other vegetable tannin, tara powder works well for tanning of hide such as camel, goat, and reptiles and for retaining of any kind of leather tanned in chrome, mainly for light or kaki colors.
Tara powder tannin provides excellent results with crust lamb skin for a natural leather light colour.particularly, it is recommended for retanning of any hide where a light color and excellent firmness .for hide chrome tanning in upholstery and shoes, and for vegetable leather tanning in light and pastel colours (alone or combined with other vegetable tannins)
use examples:-
the tara powder tannin used in leather chrome retaining for shoes and upholstery should be about 5-8% of reduced weight. For retanning of chrome-tanning goat and calf skin, it should be about 2-3% of reduced weight. In combination with other vegetable tannins, up 50% of de quantity of each maybe reached for vegetable tanning. In any vegetable tanning, it is used alone or combines with other vegetable tannins.
