Tafluprost

Tafluprost is a prostaglandin analogue. This molecule is used topically for controll of advancing open-angle glaucoma and related problems. It is also used for ocular hypertension, alone or in combination with other molecules. It reduces intraocular pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous fluid from the eyes.
Chemically, tafluprost is a fluorinated analog of prostaglandin f2-alpha. This chemical compound belongs to the class of organic compounds known as prostaglandins and related compounds.
Tafluprost is light yellow to yellow viscous oil with purity more than 99% by hplc. It is freely soluble in ethanol with melting range of 87.5°c. It is practically insoluble in water.
