A washer is a slender plate (usually disk-formed) by means of having a hole (normally in the middle) that is in general used to dole out the stack of a threaded fastener, such as a nut or screw. Other uses are as a spring (belleville washer, wave washer), spacer, wear pad, locking device, preload representative tool, and to trim down vibration (rubber washer). Washers generally have an outer diameter (OD) in relation to two times of the width of its inner diameter (ID).
