Sulphate Resisting Cement, is a type of Portland cement in which the amount of Tricalcium aluminate (C3A) is restricted to lower than 5% and (2 C3A + C4AF) is lower than 25%. The proportion of cement is 75% OPC + 25% GGBSGGBFS, etc. This cement is used in conditions where there is a risk of damage to concrete from sulphate attack. The use of Sulphate Resisting Portland Cement is recommended in places where the concrete is in contact with the soil, groundwater, exposed to seacoast & seawater.
