Steel Re Rolling Mills

The pioneering exercise made by the Rerolling industry towards the growth of national economy have been widely recognised by Government, It may be stated that in 1934 Government of India’s Tariff Board headed by a very eminent economist, Dr. Jhon Mathai, who was later Finance Minister in the Nehru Cabinet, after thorough enquiry both on the basis of oral evidences and also representations received from TISCO, Rerollers and others expressed the view in closer terms that Main Producers have a responsibility to supply to the rerolling industry their basic raw materials. The basic raw materials are billets and other rerollables. All the Cabinet Minister’s in charge of steel very much appreciated the necessity of rerolling mills spread out all over the country.
