Stainless Steel ball valve is designed with a spherical disc which is in general known as ball (one of the component of the valve) which controls the flow through it. The Stainless Steel ball has a particular diameter hole or port, through the middle so that flow will start when the port is in straight line with both ends of the valve. The hole is made perpendicular to the ends of the valve to block the flow. This is common or universal practice that the handle or lever is set in line with the port position letting site engineers to see the valve's position.

Stainless Steel Ball valves are not only durable and usually work to achieve perfect shutoff even after years of disuse but also have a great feature of anti corrosive. This is why these valves can be the excellent choice for shutoff applications. Stainless Steel Ball valves are generally preferred to Stainless Steel globe valves and gate valves for this reason.
