Sulphur with a chemical formula of S₈ and melting point of 112-120 °C, also called Brimstone, meaning “Burning Stone" is an organosulfur compounds and a chemical element. Sulphur or sulfur occurs near volcanic regions or hot springs and geothermal areas. It is a nonmetal, combined of gypsum, pyrite and galena and is present in huge quantities in the earth’s crust and has a yellow color and distinct odor. From thousands of year it is known to humans and been used in several industries and has various applications. Being insoluble in water and poor conductor of heat and electricity though dissolves in many organic solvents. Sulphur vigorously goes under various chemical reactions, being highly reactive. It easily forms Sulphur oxides as it readily combines with any element, as oxygen.
