Sodium Selenite

Sodium selenite contains Selenium, an essential trace element for animals, domesticated birds. Selenium is one of the most essential micro nutrient for overall development and the health of animals. The deficiency of Selenium in animals, domesticated birds results into various diseases affecting their health and reproductive performance ,or efficiency of egg production. Selenium is available in inorganic and also in its organic form . The inorganic form includes elemental selenium , Sodium selenite , Sodium selenate , etc. and organic form such as selenomethionines .Sodium selenite serves as the cheapest source of Selenium in inorganic form, that acts as an effective micro nutritional supplement when added to poultry feed in micro amounts to enhance egg production and its quality and for increasing the body weight of the broiler. It is used in the animal feeds as a micro nutritional additive as per the currently authorized maximum contents of total selenium in the complete feed and as per the permissible tolerable limits.
