Sodium Selenite also known as a Disodium salt of Selenious Acid is a white solid, highly soluble in water, solubility in water : about 85 gms 100ml @ 20°c., but not soluble in ethanol. It has the Mol. Formula Na2SeO3 with Selenium having (+4 )oxidation state. It is prepared by the action of Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) on Selenious Acid ( H2SeO3). Sodium Selenite is available in two forms as given below: i)The Anhydrous form :As Na2 SeO3, Mol. Wt.: 172.94 gmsmole, CAS No. 10102-18-8 ii) The Hydrous form : As Na2 SeO3.5 H2O known as Sodium Selenite Penta hydrate Mol. Wt.: 263.01gmsmole , CAS No. 26970-82-1 Both these forms behave identically, except that they differ in their Molecular wt. Sodium Selenite finds its application in the Glass Manufacturing Industries for manufacturing colorless glass. It is also used in the preparation of Sodium Selenate. With its continuous growth the company established itself as a Public Limited Company on March 18, 2010 with the name “Omkar Specialty Chemicals Limited”, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Pravin. S. Herlekar as the Chairman & Managing Director and with Mr.Omkar P. Herlekar as its young and dynamic Whole Time Director.
Our Company is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of Specialty Chemicals and Intermediates for Chemical and Allied Industries.
The Company has total 7 Units, of which 4 Units are located at MIDC, Badlapur (E), Dist: Thane, Maharashtra, India.
Our Company is primarily engaged in the production of Speciality Chemicals and Pharma Intermediates. We manufacture a range of Organic, Inorganic and Organo Inorganic Intermediates. The Inorganic Intermediates include Molybdenum derivatives, Selenium derivatives, Iodine derivatives, Cobalt derivatives, Bismuth & Tungsten derivatives and the organic intermediates include Tartaric acid derivatives and other intermediates. These products find applications in various industries like Pharmaceutical Industry, Chemical Industry, Glass Industry, Cosmetics, Ceramic Pigments and Cattle & Poultry Feeds.
We are exporting our products to Europe, Canada, Asia, South America & Australia.
