Popular brands include Swagelok and Parker. OS-LOK ASTM A403 254 SMO Tube Fittings is fully interchangeable with Swagelok & Alok fittings.
OS-LOK Ferrule fitting are manufactured in Stainless steel and Alloy steel grades. Most poplular stainless steel grades include Stainless steel 304 & Stainless steel 316. Alloy steel grades include , Monel, Inconel, Alloy 600 & 825, Hastelloy 276, Duplex Steel , Super Duplex Steel, 254 SMO etc. Ferrule fittings are also manufactured in copper & brass.
SMO 254 is categorised in austenitic stainless steel with a Molybdenum content not less than 6% , that is why this alloy is also called 6Mo . 6Mo was formulated for usage in seawater and chloride enviornments.With high ductility and impact strength SMO254 is a cheaper alternative to high nickel alloys and titanium alloys in some applications.
