Sluice Gate

Different types of valves are used to control and regulate the pipe flow and the valve selection merely depends on the duty of the valves. To control or completely stop the flow in the pipeline, Sluice valves are used. While closing the sluice valves, it stops the fluid under the high pressure of flow whereas when fully opened, the sluice valve provides little resistance to the fluid flow. Sluice Gate Manufacturers design the product on the basis of all criteria. After analyzing the merits and demerits, the product is launched in the Market. There are numbers of Engineers working beyond such successful products.
Mainly two types of the spindle are used to raise the sluice valve gate such as a raising spindle, a non-raising spindle.
A raising spindle: in this type, a spindle is attached to the gate but the gate is not rotating with the hand wheel
A non-raising spindle: Here spindle rotates with the help of screw attachment in the gate
Despite its elegance and appropriate action, it is difficult to operate sluice valve. A heavy force is required to unseat them against the unbalanced high pressure. This process takes few minutes to open and close, sometimes manually operating actuators are used. The difficulties could be overcome by using a valve of smaller bore than the diameter of the pipeline.
