Shunt Reactors

  Shunt reactors are normally used to compensate capacitive VARs generated by high voltage transmissions lines during light loaded conditions to avoid overvoltage at the other end. Other applications of shunt reactors include the use with capacitors to balance the three phase currents when used for single phase load.
