In existing plastic septic tanks, the off gases produced in the first chamber are not escaped through an off gas vent. This causes the off gases to escape through the nearest opening on every flush which results in bubbling of off gases through the nearby closets. Our newly invented septic tank completely removes the risk of bubbling of off gases. The off gases produced in the first chamber of the septic tank is made to flow out through an interconnected pipe to the second chamber from where it escapes to the atmosphere above the building through the off gases vent. This process particularly eliminates the chances of bubbling of off gases through the closets.
Anaerobic attached media (Trickling filters) have been widely recognized as a reliable method for biological oxidation of organic wastes. Biological growth on surface of Packing Media converts dissolved organic waste into byproducts like carbon dioxide , methane , nitrates and water, thus reduces the BOD (Biological oxygen demand) to a large extent. The trickling filter media used in the newly invented plastic septic tank system is 0.4mm thick PVC anaerobic packing media. The cross flow design of this anaerobic packing media offers high performance . The media used has large specific surface area, up to 240 square meters per cubic meters of media. The voidage of the trickling media is very large and is more than 97%. The media is arranged in such a way that the septic water enters the bottom of trickling filter chamber and then flow up through the packing media. The corrugated pattern provides continuous and uniform horizontal redistribution of water with no channelization or short circuiting. The result is maximum utilization of media surface and increased retention time of the waste water in the media, especially at low hydraulic loadings. The increased surface area increases the bacteria action and decomposes the organic wastes more efficiently.
As a halogen, chlorine is a highly efficient disinfectant, and kills disease-causing pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. The water coming out from septic tank will be rich in pathogenic bacteria. This water when enters through the chlorine diffuser, will be supplied with adequate amount of chlorine which disinfects the outlet water by destroying pathogenic bacteria and also reduces the BOD (Biological oxygen demand). Thus the water can be disposed off safely.
The newly invented plastic septic tank system has an advanced soak pit which enables the percolation of treated water. The holes are angled at 450 towards the ground through a number of 1 inch pipe like structures. This is done so as to prevent the mud from falling into the soak pit and it also acts as rat trap. The bottom of the soak pit is completely sealed so as to prevent mixing of septic water with the ground water
As our population is getting increased , our cities, towns and even villages are thickly populated and the set back between the septic tank soak pits and drinking water sources are limited than the stipulated distance. As a result the drinking water sources are being contaminated by pathogenic bacteria. Our present invention eliminates all the problems faced by the plastic septic tanks, the bubbling of off gases at closets, high B O D at septic tank outlet water resulting in foul smell, presence of pathogenic bacteria at outlet water, mixing of percolated septic tank outlet water with ground water etc.
