Contact SupplierA Schirmer tear test strip is a small, absorbent strip of paper used in ophthalmology to measure the production of tears in the eye. This test is commonly used to diagnose dry eye syndrome and other conditions related to tear production.
During the Schirmer tear test, the strip is gently placed in the lower eyelid of the patient's eye. The patient then closes their eyes for a specified period, typically around five minutes. During this time, the strip absorbs tears from the eye. After the designated time, the strip is removed, and the amount of tears absorbed is measured.
