Hardness of Sandstones is important in deciding suitability for applications in various places. Further, the cementing material determines the color of Sandstone; iron Sandstones are reddish, brownish, carbonaceous Sandstones are black; siliceous are white; and argillaceous Sandstones are earthy to buff.
