Tests are performed in our ISO 17025:2005 NABL accredited lab under the standard Specified conditions or as per specific field conditions.
Salt spray testing is a test method where in a product or coatings resistance to corrosion is evaluated in severe corrosive conditions with extended exposure to a saline or salted spray
This testing is carried out in a closed chamber which is filled neutral salt fog. The test specimen is exposed to a predetermined time period and inspected during its exposure. This test is carried out to check the integrity of coatings, paints in a corrosive environment. This test is carried out as per ASTM B117.
Types of Salt spray testing:
· Neutral Salt Spray (NSS),
· Acetic acid Salt Spray (ASS),
· Copper sulphate Acetic Salt Spray (CASS)
The salt spray test can be acclimatized to suite different corrosivity level to simulate different environments.

A standard 5% salt solution of sodium chloride known as NSS or neutral salt spray and a solution of acetic acid known as ASS. The solutions are chosen based on the type of coating to be evaluated
Other salt variations: SO2 / Calcium Chloride (CaCl2)
