  Tilkut is a popular sweet delicacy. It is made from sesame seeds and jaggery which are mixed together and shaped into small, flat discs. These discs are then deep-fried until crispy and golden brown. Tilkut is traditionally associated with the Makar Sankranti festival, which is celebrated in January to mark the transition of the sun into the zodiac sign of Capricorn. During this festival, people exchange tilkut as a symbol of good luck and prosperity.
