Oleoresins are semi-solid extracts composed of a resin in solution in an essential and/or fatty oil, obtained by evaporation of the solvent used for their production. They are a highly concentrated substance that exists in liquid form. The extraction process begins with raw spices that are cleaned and ground, then the spices' oils are distilled using an organic solvent.Oleoresins are used mainly as a flavouring agent in the food processing industry. They are more economical to use, consistent quality and cleaner than the equivalent ground spices.
