Roli and Sindoor

Sindoor is a traditional vermilion orange colored powder used to coat Lord Hanumana and Lord Ganesha ideals. According to Hindu Puran sindoor was used by lord hanumana to impress lord Rama to whom he is most devoted to. Since then sindoor is used to cover all hanuman ideals as a symbol of his ultimate devotion towards lord Rama. In Hindu mythology married woman marks their forehead with Sindoor for long life of their spouse.
