Contact SupplierRock-wool is a ceramic material conceived with fibers of molten stone. Compressed blocs of these wool like fibers are, since many years, used in construction industry as an insulating material. Its main features are its thermal insulation (low thermal conductivity), its non-combustibility and fire-resistance. In specific situations it is appreciated for its acoustic performances.
Rock-wool is an environmental-friendly material.
1 Kg of Rock-wool is conceived with an energy input of 10 to 20 Mega joules. Due to its insulating capacity and used under normal circumstances, this kg will save some 5 to 10 Mega joules per month, depending on its application (thus a return on energy of 1 to 4 months).
In addition is rock-wool not a burden to the environment, as it is a natural and inert product and is rock-wool completely recyclable.
