In old days, our ancestors used wooden chekku to produce oils. The body and the hand of the wooden chekku is made from Siris tree wood. When the seeds (coconut, sesame, and groundnut) get cold pressed , they retain the natural nutrients.
Using wooden chekku for making oil reduces the heat. But the iron chekku and modern machines increases the heat heavily. So it destroys large amount of nutrients in the oil.
