We have partnered with an NGO which works with tribals living in the Sahayadri forests of Western Ghats.
These tribals go into the forests to collect the honey. This forest is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The forest is one of the eight "hottest hotspots" of biological diversity in the world.
The Sahyadri region is full of different species of wild medicinal flora and fauna, many of them are local and endemic.
The dense forest in this region is completely free from pollution and have 27% higher variety of plant species than most other forests.
This Honey has been laboratory tested and found to be completely free from chemicals & pesticides - it is mostly exported to European markets.
The honey is extracted in a natural way (taste could vary from batch to batch) and is translucent - one can clearly see the suspended pollen which is a sign of purity (the pollen in honey helps in building immunity).
Common honey in the supermarket is transparent. Common honey is also blended and processed at high temperatures (to get the uniformity in taste) which destroys the medicinal properties of honey.
