Rainbow Sandstone

Rainbow sandstones are basically sedimentary rocks composed of minute particles of quartz bound together by silica or lime. Also known as the khatu indradhanush, this rainbow sandstone is found plentifully in the khatu mines of rajasthan, in india. Depending on the percentage of constituent minerals the color varies from brown and violet to sometimes reddish veins.
this sandstone has beautiful tones and shades of colour and the colours have an amazing blend of brown, violet, dusty to rich pink and sometimes have reddish veins. Because of this amazing amalgamation of colours this stone has been given the name ‘rainbow sandstone’.
