Contact SupplierR22 refrigerant, also known as HCFC-22 or chlorodifluoromethane, is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) compound commonly used as a refrigerant in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump systems. However, its use has been phased out due to its ozone-depleting properties. The Montreal Protocol, an international agreement aimed at protecting the ozone layer, mandated the phaseout of R22 due to its high ozone depletion potential (ODP). As a result, its production and importation have been gradually decreasing, leading to increased prices and limited availability.
To comply with environmental regulations, many countries have adopted schedules to completely eliminate the production and use of R22. Consequently, industries have been transitioning to alternative refrigerants with lower environmental impact, such as R410A, R134a, R407C, and others. This shift aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the ozone layer.
