It is produced by the precipitation of sodium silicate solution with a mineral acid, followed by washing, drying and milling. Precipitated silica powder has several advantages over other types of silica, such as high purity, low moisture content, controlled particle size distribution, high surface area and porosity, and excellent dispersibility.
