Pomegranates

We procure the best quality pomegranates for domestic and export purposes. Red Pomegranates, especially the variety Bhagwa is widely known for its soft seeds. The other varieties are Arakta and Ganesh that are largely grown in the West and South India. The sweet varieties of the fruit give immediate relief to stomach ailments and also work well as a laxative. Its ellagic acid works as an antioxidant and is responsible for reducing levels of bad cholesterol.

The two most commercially grown varities are Ganesh & Bhagwa.

• Ganesh → It has a yellowish pink outer colour and pinkish and soft arils. It is primarily grown in Maharashtra. The size of the fruit ranges from 300 – 400 gms.
• Bhagwa → The Cherry red colored, clean skin and bold arils have increased its cosmetic value and market appearance as compared to the other varieties. Average fruit size is 300 gms.

Pomegranates are available from January to May and September to December.
