• Soil : Soils should be fertile and well drained. Sandy loam to black soil, rich in organic matter> 20 % are preferred.
• Climate : Red Pearl prefers cool winter and dry, hot summer.
• Variety : Bhagwa or Sinduri.
• Season of Planting : Feb - March (summer), June - July (monsoon) and September- October (Early Winter).
• Spacing : Spacing of 5 M x 4 M is desirable for proper growth of crop plants.
• Days to Flowering : 1year to 1 1/2 years.
