clay guard  while cement based  putty combines the water resistant property of high quality white cement with the superior binding power of acrylic polymers . It is supplied in smooth powder form. When mixed with water to form a smooth paste can be applied to sand cement plaster, concrete surface to make the surface level ready for painting. Proving to be cost effective to use clay guard helps easy application of paints and maintains the true colours of the paints. 

recommended usage

clay guard white cement based putty  can be applied on almost all interior and exterior surfaces such as cement / sand rendering cement/ concrete bricks and blocks precast concrete /asbestos cement surface or plywood previously painted surface. 

surface preparation and application

surface must be clean and dry before surface preparation. Surface should be free from previously painted paint flakes, dirt , grease, or fungal growth, these need to be removed by wire brushing and cleaning with water. 

clay guard is supplied in powder form. Before application the putty must be prepared. To prepare the putty add water to the bucket in a 2:1 ratio. Read the mixing instructions on your putty package to get the appropriate ratio for your product. Apply putty using the mason’s trowel in one coat to achieve a level thickness of 1 to 2 mm. Allow the applied putty to dry for 4 – 8 hours depending on the thickness of the application. Wipe the residual dust with a soft cloth. The wall is now ready for painting. No primers required before painting.
