Pea Nuts

Peanuts are not true nuts but legumes which have a peculiar habit of ripening underground. From salmonella toxic mold to potentially fat allergens are some of the dangers related to peanuts and so consumers are looking towards organic peanuts as a safer solution to conventional non organic. 
Each oval shaped kernel or seed is comprised of two-off-white lobes that are covered by brownish red skin. These raw peanuts are rich aromatic and earthy. They are loaded with 40% heart healthy oleic acid and 26% protein. They have much sweeter and smoother taste. Peanuts are good source of MUFA, vitamin E, niacin, folate, protein and manganese. To lower risk of CVD and CHD, have a handful of peanuts or a tablespoon of peanut butter at least four times a week.
