mechanism of action:

radoxetine (paroxetine) enhances serotonergic activity by inhibiting presynaptic reuptake of serotonin by the serotonin (sert) receptor. this inhibition raises the level of serotonin in the synaptic cleft.  this improves mood and physical symptoms of depression and also relieves symptoms of panic and obsessive disorders.
