Palmarosa is the common name, which is the species of lemon grass genus and it is botanically known as Cymbopogon martinii. This grass is native to South East Asia, especially India. Palmarosa Oil is high grade pale yellow color oil with very fine aroma. The Palmarosa Oil Oil is obtained by the steam distillation process in which the grass is treated in the boiler. The grass is mainly cultivated for its oil for the active compound Geraniol, which is valued for its aroma and traditional medical uses. The Palmarosa Oil also acts as an insect repellent for the stored grains and beans. Palmarosa Oil is also a main ingredient in the preparation of soaps, perfumes and cosmetics for its grateful aroma.
