SQUALANE is the saturated hydrocarbon obtained by the complete hydrogenation of naturally occurring SQUALENE .

Squalane, is a hydrocarbon (C30H62), found naturally in the sebum, secreted by human skin. Produced by the complete hydrogenation of Squalene. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and a transparent liquid. It is a non-sticky, non-irritant, non-oxidizing, non-drying, and an extremely stable oil. Absorbed easily by human skin without giving any unpleasant and greasy feel. Squalane is capable to penetrate inside the human skin, and imparts flexibility, smooth texture and appearance. It is also responsible for preventing the water loss from the skin and act as excellent carrier of other active substances. It has excellent spreadability and restore the skin's lost lipid barrier and suppleness.
