Contact SupplierDragon fruit, also known as pitaya or the strawberry pear, is a beautiful tropical fruit that is sweet and crunchy. The plant the fruit comes from is actually a type of cactus of the genus Hylocereus, which includes only about 20 different species.
The two most common types have bright red skin with green scales that resemble a dragon — hence the name.
Its unique appearance lends itself to serving as is, but this tropical fruit is also wonderful blended into a cocktail.
The average yield is 22.7 tons/ha with the total annual production of nearly 700.000 tons. Fresh dragon fruit is used primarily for domestic consumption (15-20%) and for exportation (80-85%) to 40 countries and territories
