Optical Pyrometer is used for non-contact measurement of high temperatures of incandescent objects in the range 800°C to 1500°C.

The temperature measurement makes use of visual comparison between the brightness of an electrically heated and calibrated incandescent filament (reference light bulb) in the Optical Pyrometer and that of the object to be measured. Once the brightness becomes same, the filament seems to disappear and the Temperature can be read on the LCD display.
Optics, bulb and basic mechanical design of the original Optical pyrometer PYROPTO has been maintained but rechargeable batteries and electronic is added. The evaluation of temperature data is performed using a single chip microprocessor. In addition to displaying the measured temperature in degrees Celsius, the four-digit LCD display indicates the status of the re-chargeable battery, which is supplied with the unit. The device is equipped with a memory to indicate the last measured temperature data.
Due to its appropriate design, the simple measuring principle used and the convenience of its operation, high accuracy measurements can also be carried out even by less skilled operators. An additional advantage is the suitability for carrying out measurements on very small surfaces of upto 2 mm diameter at a measuring distance of 60 cm.
