Optical Fiber Sensors

Optical Fiber Sensors can be used to measure strain, temperature, pressure and other quantities by modifying a fiber so that the quantity can be measured modulates the intensity, phase, polarization, wave length or transit time of light in the fiber. With separate-amplifier sensors, the light from the amplifier is transmitted through a fiber to enable detection in narrow places and other locations with limited access.
