Duplex steel Branch Connection fittings (also known as duplex steel O'lets) are fittings which allow us outlet from a larger diameter size pipes to a smaller one dia pipe generally. The main pipe on which the branch connection is to be welded is usually called the Run pipe and the pipe to which the branch connection gives a channel is called the Branch or Outlet size. Duplex steel Olet fittings meet the complete reinforcement requirement of applicable piping codes like ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8. They also meet the 2001 edition of MSS-SP-97 Standard- "Integrally Reinforced Forged Branch Outlet Fittings".

Duplex Stainless steel metal was firstly developed about 70 years ago in Sweden for use in the sulfite paper industry application.
These Duplex alloys were originally developed or invented to combat corrosion problems caused by chloride-bearing cooling waters and other aggressive chemical process fluids.
The nitrogen alloyed duplex stainless steel are particularly suitable for applications covering the -50oF / +600oF temperature range. Temperatures outside this range may be considered but need some restrictions, particularly for welded structures.
“Duplex” metal is mixed microstructure with about equal proportions of “ferrite” and “austenite”. Duplex stainless steels are a family of many grades under one umbrella, which range in corrosion performance depending on their alloy content. The chemical composition based on high contents of Chromium and Molybedium, improves pitting corrosion resistance and intergranular, respectively.
With significant addition of nitrogen gas as an alloying agent, improved toughness in the heat-affected zones of welds and excellent chloride corrosion resistance both was achieved thus quickly becoming the best metal of stainless steels, accounting for more than 75% of duplex steel metal consumption.
It has got popular rapidly because of its cost-based combination as the replacement of the nickel content with the addition of nitrogen which is comparatively very less expensive. With this duplex steel metals we can manufacture many metal components like duplex steel tube fittings, duplex steel butt weld fittings, duplex steel high pressure (Screwed) fittings etc.
